Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.

We are seeking to appoint a Digital Scholarship and Innovation Coordinator to work in our Content and Open Research team. In this newly created role, you will support our commitment to embed innovation across our teaching and research. This role will be responsible for the practical delivery of digital scholarship activities including but not limited to the new Library Digital Scholarship Service. You will also play a key role in the provision of comprehensive, effective and efficient support in the area of digital innovation applied to collections (including digitisation) and the practical application of AI solutions to improve our Library Service workflows.

We are looking for a confident individual with an interest in embedding digital innovation to teaching and research. You will have an excellent understanding of the latest challenges and opportunities around digital innovation (including AI), digitisation and digital shift of resources in the academic library context. You will have experience of multi-tasking while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a busy service. As part of this role, you will deliver training and advise on copyright matters, as required. There is an expectation that the post holder will work some days on campus and that they will be able to support and train colleagues as needed.

To apply, please upload a CV and cover letter along with your application to the University website. You will also be asked some brief questions to help us understand your suitability for the role. In return we offer a generous pension, relocation assistance where appropriate, flexible working options including job share and blended home/campus working locations (dependent on work duties), access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery. The University of Surrey is committed to providing an inclusive environment that offers equal opportunities for all. We place great value on diversity and are seeking to increase the diversity within our community. Therefore we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities. We appreciate that sometimes people can be put off applying if they don't match every requirement. However, if you're excited about the role and think you can do what we've described we welcome your application. If you're not sure quite who we are looking for, do contact us with any questions. Interviews will be held week commencing 17th August. The University of Surrey reserves the right to close this vacancy early based on volume and calibre of applications.
