Pay and Contract

Permanent, full time 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Band 3 – £28,778 to £32,080 per annum

Responsibilities

  • The post holder will support the running of our life science laboratories and provide technical support to students and staff.
  • They will assist in the organisation, preparation and delivery of practical sessions and will be responsible for ordering and maintaining stocks and equipment.

Qualifications

  • The post holder should hold a degree/HNC in a relevant life science subject and have experience working in research or teaching laboratories.
  • They will have experience in using a wide range of science equipment and good knowledge of the techniques commonly used within the life sciences.
  • You will have excellent organisation and communication skills and be able to work independently and effectively within a small team.

Team

You will be joining a team of talented and dedicated technicians working across the School of Health, Sciences and Society, with a focus on Life Sciences. You will report to the Senior Life Sciences Technician, and additionally, you will work closely with the School Manager, Head of Life and Sport Sciences and the academic course teams in the Life Sciences area.
