The University of Strathclyde is seeking a creative and proactive Social Media Officer to join our Marketing and Communications team at the heart of Glasgow’s vibrant city centre. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver engaging social media content that showcases the University’s world-leading research, innovation and student experience. Working across a range of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn, you’ll help to grow our online presence, strengthen engagement with key audiences and support major campaigns and events. Key responsibilities: Plan, create and deliver engaging social media content across multiple platforms Manage day-to-day activity, including scheduling, monitoring and responding to queries Work closely with colleagues across the University to promote research, partnerships and student activity Analyse performance and optimise campaigns using data and insights Support wider marketing campaigns and communications activity About you: Experience managing social media channels for an organisation Strong writing, storytelling and content creation skills Understanding of social media analytics and best practice Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail A proactive, collaborative approach and passion for digital engagement You’ll be part of a dynamic, values-driven organisation committed to being people-oriented, bold, innovative and collaborative, with a global reputation for excellence in research, education and impact.
