The University of Strathclyde is currently seeking a highly motivated, suitably experienced individual to support its Estates Services staff in managing statutory compliance associated with its activities that support the delivery of a multi-million-pound capital and maintenance program to improve the quality of facilities available to our staff and students across the University Estate.

Reporting to the Health, Safety & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the University’s Asbestos register, providing a competent source of advice and assistance on all matters relating to asbestos including organising survey and removal works as well as delivering training to those at greatest risk.

The role will require sufficient flexibility to assist with the management of other statutory compliance functions currently undertaken by the Estates Services department, including fire safety, legionella, construction activities, and training on health and safety topics.

You will have an Asbestos Surveying or related background with significant relevant experience, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently under your own initiative. You should also have knowledge and experience of using IT systems to support report writing and data gathering.
