A Knowledge Exchange (KE) Associate is sought by the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering to support

the activities of the Energy for Development (EfD) team, with a focus on multi-disciplinary renewable energy access work

in Malawi, Zambia and Rwanda. The KE Associate will support KE and project management activities across a portfolio of

projects managed by the team – with an initial focus on The Scottish Global Renewables Centre (GRC).

The GRC brings together partners across academia, industry, government and communities to accelerate the sustainable

deployment of renewable energy technologies in diverse international contexts. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly

Working closely with the Centre leadership team and international partners, you will play a central role in project

coordination, stakeholder engagement and the development of knowledge capture, synthesis, communication and

renewable energy projects and partnerships, ensuring that knowledge is effectively shared among researchers,

practitioners, policymakers and funding bodies.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working across disciplines and cultures, can rapidly develop an

understanding of new technical subjects, and is passionate about transforming complex information into accessible and

useful insights.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and communication formats,

including workshops, interviews, case studies, reports, digital content, presentations and learning resources. They will

work collaboratively with technical specialists to translate emerging evidence and project outcomes into materials that

support learning, decision-making and future programme development.

As a Knowledge Exchange Associate, as part of a wider knowledge exchange / research group or programme you will

develop knowledge exchange objectives and proposals for own or joint knowledge exchange activities and play a lead role

in relation to a specific project/s or part of a broader project, with guidance from senior colleagues as required. You will

conduct individual and/or collaborative knowledge exchange activities, including determining appropriate methods and

contributing to the development of new knowledge exchange methods, continually reflecting on practice/methodology to

enhance delivery to partners.

To be considered for the role, you will have a good honours degree and PhD / higher degree (or equivalent professional

experience) in appropriate discipline. You will have sufficient breadth or depth of knowledge in the relevant discipline/s to

contribute to knowledge exchange programmes and to the development of knowledge exchange activities. You will have

the ability to conduct individual knowledge exchange projects, work directly and independently with clients, and to

prepare new knowledge exchange proposals.

Whilst not essential for the role, applications are welcomed from candidates with: membership/working towards

membership of a relevant Chartered/professional body (including the Higher Education Academy), experience of relevant

student supervision and teaching activities.

Applicants may use tools such as AI to support their application; however, all submissions must accurately reflect their

own experience and understanding. The University reserves the right to verify the authenticity of application materials

and may reject applications where concerns arise.
