The Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS) seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and competent Administrator with excellent organisational skills to join our team. The successful candidate will join our busy administration team and provide support across the department, specialising in our Biomolecular Science (BMS) programmes. SIPBS is a leading centre for research and education focused on the discovery, development and delivery of medicines. SIPBS has approximately 1,800 undergraduate students in 15 different programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support across the department, with a focus on the Biomolecular Science programme.
  • Assist with departmental timetabling using SPlus and Enterprise software for all student cohorts.
  • Support student administration activities and maintain student records.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Relevant experience as an administrator in a busy office environment or a relevant HNC, with demonstrated work experience in administration.
  • Excellent IT skills and experience with Microsoft Office, MyPlace, FMS-Agresso, SPlus and Enterprise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong team‑working abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, use own initiative, meet tight deadlines, juggle multiple tasks and deliver a positive student experience.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Familiarity with university administration and student record systems; experience in the Higher or Further Education sectors is an advantage.
