The University seeks to recruit an experienced Deputy Hospitality Operations Manager (DHOM) who has the passion and desire to assist the Hospitality Operations Manager (HOM) in leading the Hospitality section of the Catering department. Within the University of Strathclyde, Catering Services provide a range of food and drink services to the staff and corporate clients across the campus. Operations are varied including conference centre catering, delivered catering and VIP events such as weddings and university dinners. Catering Services is run as a commercial business on a self-funded basis and the Hospitality arm of the business generates approximately £2.1M per annum with further expansion activities planned.

The DHOM will have a key role in assisting the HOM with operational management and financial responsibilities, team development, health and safety and food hygiene focuses. We are looking for a positive and motivational person who is energetic and flexible with a proven track record of operating and aligning the business with customer needs. Driving continuous improvement and financial accountability will be key to ensure the provision of a first-class catering service that exceeds customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will currently operate at a managerial level in a higher education or commercial hospitality environment, with a track record of improving performance and results. The normal hours for this full-time position are 35 per week, 5 days over 7, including evenings and weekends. This post offers a 5% non-standard working hours allowance.
