Overview

In this role you drive and coordinate academic governance under the Academic Registry, ensuring policies and regulations stay current and accessible. You will manage records, communications, and information resources, while leading committee administration and contributing to curriculum management. Working closely with university leadership and faculties, you help prepare for QA reviews and regulatory assessments. This position combines policy development, project leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration to support the institution’s quality and governance agenda.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively review, update, and develop academic policy and regulation to keep them current and well‑operational
  • Manage change records and version control for policies/regulations within academic years
  • Coordinate public or internal policy communications and staff/student awareness of governance changes
  • Maintain and develop governance information resources and ensure website accuracy and accessibility
  • Oversee Academic Registry website structure and content with colleagues for updates
  • Provide effective committee management and administration for governance/quality committees
  • Contribute to curriculum management and development activities
  • Assist in preparing for and managing QA reviews (e.g., QAA) and other regulatory assessments in collaboration with senior staff

Key requirements

  • Degree level education or equivalent professional experience with increasing responsibility
  • Experience in academic policy, governance or quality within a higher education environment
  • Proven ability to navigate complex regulations/frameworks
  • Experience in writing, consultation on, and launching policy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality across duties
  • Strong understanding of current HE environmental factors and their impact on operations
  • Excellent organizational skills and multi‑task coordination
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to present data and reports
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team with initiative and attention to detail
  • IT proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of student databases
