The Post

The Court, the University’s governing body, is responsible for the strategic direction, institutional values, and overall sustainability, ensuring we achieve our mission through strong leadership and governance. The University is seeking to appoint new Lay Members of Court, and expressions of interest are sought from individuals with a strong commitment to the principles of corporate governance, and with significant leadership and/or board level experience, preferably gained from working within an organization of comparable size and complexity to the University.

The candidate should have:

  • A successful leadership and/or board member track record, with executive/non-executive director experience, ideally from an organization of similar size or complexity to the University.
  • The ability to establish good working relationships with other Court members and the University’s senior management team.
  • An understanding of the Higher Education sector and political awareness.
  • A strong commitment to good governance principles, including integrity, transparency, and impartiality.
