Release Date: Monday 31 August 2026
Closing Date: Tuesday 29 September 2026

This role is an important addition to the University's Research Support Team and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective delivery of the University's research governance activities. Working as an 0.4 FTE Research Integrity and Ethics Assistant (15 hours per week), you will collaborate closely with the existing 0.6 FTE Research Integrity and Ethics Assistant on a job share basis. Both postholders will collectively fulfil the responsibilities of the full role profile.
We are seeking an organised, proactive and customer-focused individual who is able to manage a varied workload, work confidently with sensitive information and liaise effectively with a wide range of colleagues. Experience of administrative support, process coordination and reporting will be advantageous, together with an interest in research governance and ethics.
This post is 15 hours per week, and we welcome discussions about flexible working arrangements and the pattern of working. To ensure service continuity, you will need to be available to work on Mondays and on at least one of Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. This is to enable appropriate support for service delivery, as well as opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing with the other postholder.
Main Responsibilities The focus of this post will be to support the work of the University's REF Planning Group, manage the Export Control mailbox and associated enquiries, and work alongside the other Research Integrity and Ethics Assistant to coordinate and support the University's research ethics application and review processes. The role will involve responding to, arranging and minuting meetings dealing with routine enquiries, supporting administrative processes, maintaining records, and contributing to the efficient operation of key research governance activities.
