The University is seeking a highly skilled System Accountant to provide technical and functional leadership for its Oracle Fusion Finance system. This role is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of the finance system, ensuring its stability, integrity, performance and alignment with institutional financial processes and strategic objectives. You will act as the Finance subject matter expert for Oracle Fusion, owning system configuration, functional design, operational controls, and enhancement roadmaps. You will also be responsible for the line management of a Senior Systems Officer, providing technical direction, workload prioritisation, and professional development support. Working closely with Digital Services, external implementation partners, and senior stakeholders, you will ensure the system is fit for purpose, scalable and fully integrated with the University’s wider digital ecosystem.
Main Responsibilities
- To advise and develop Oracle Fusion to exploit the systems’ functionality which involves the testing of new modules, processes and high‑level problem solving.
- Responsible for the project management of new developments, quarterly upgrades and maintenance of Oracle Fusion.
- Proactively taking the lead in resolving finance systems issues and liaising with Digital Services or the software suppliers. Following up queries on a regular basis until a resolution is found.
- Responsible for the system control, relating to process change, systems developments and general operational matters.
- To maintain and manage the University and its subsidiary financial systems on a daily basis, specifically maintaining the chart of accounts and other system attributes and parameters which define how the system works.
- Responsible for the liaison with Digital Services, External Consultants and Senior Officers of the University to discuss current issues and future developments of Oracle Fusion.
