Simulation Technical Roles – Stafford & Stoke Campuses

Clinical simulation is central to preparing healthcare students for professional practice. Our technical team prepares, operates and troubleshoots everything behind the scenes, from patient manikins and clinical equipment to observation cameras and immersive environments.

We Are Recruiting Three Roles:

  • Technical Instructor (Grade 5, Maternity Cover) – Stoke (INF44-26)
  • Technical Instructor (Grade 5, Permanent) – Stafford (INF42-26)
  • Technical Assistant (Grade 4, Permanent) – Stafford (INF43-26) – This role does not meet the criteria for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

These are practical, operational roles and are not primarily desk or PC-based. Work includes moving and setting up equipment and manikins, supporting teaching sessions, maintaining and repairing equipment, troubleshooting faults, and ensuring facilities are safe and ready for use. We are looking for people who are practical, reliable and organised, with strong problem‑solving skills and a technical background. You should be comfortable working in a busy, hands‑on environment supporting teaching and learning. The team works collaboratively, with overlap across roles and shared responsibility for delivery, but with differing areas of focus.

Technical Instructors will have experience in clinical simulation or a comparable technical setting and will contribute to scenario delivery, technical training, equipment management and service development. Technical Assistants support the day‑to‑day running of the facilities, including equipment setup, stock control and general technical support. No two days are the same, and the work has a direct impact on how future healthcare professionals learn.
