The School of Medicine is looking to recruit apractically-minded, enthusiastic person with an interest in science to join theschool as a Teaching Technician. The role holder will assist the SeniorTeaching Technician to prepare, set up and run science practical classes forundergraduate medical students.
In addition, there will be occasional tasks ofassisting other practical teaching sessions and assessment activity in theSchool of Medicine to improve business resilience across the technician team.The role holder will also provide holiday cover for the Research Laboratoryglasswasher.
The role will be based in the School ofMedicine and is a hands-on, learn-as-you-go opportunity. Initially at Grade 2,there is the potential for advancement to Grade 3 upon successful completion ofa structured training and development programme (after 12-18 months). It wouldsuit someone curious about physiology, histology, pharmacology andmicrobiology. There is a significant physical component to the role and good manualdexterity, and good manual handling practices are required.
