The School of Medicine is looking for two Research Technicians
Theparticular focus of the post/s is to allow training of the individual in cell andcancer biology, having had previous experience in another field studyingtowards PhD level, particularly in enzymology or mass spectrometry. You will bereliable, creative, knowledgeable and hard-working, capable of deliveringhigh-quality data in a timely manner. You will have published as first authorin peer reviewed journals. You will be flexible as some work may necessitateworking outside normal hours. You will have all the necessary support from the team,and training will be provided, but you will be expected to be able to workindependently and as part of a team as required. Problem-solving skills andscientific rigour are essential traits.
There are two positions available, each for a oneyear 'discipline hopping fellowship", intended to provide an opportunity toacquire skills in cell and cancer biology for someone engaged in moreanalytical or basic science who will be completing PhD studies. In addition toacquiring new skills, the individual will work on projects related todevelopment of (and understanding the mechanisms of action of) novelanti-cancer drugs. The role will be based in the School of Medicine inProfessor David Harrison's group.
