Applications are invited for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Molecular Microbiology to join the research group of Dr Jaclyn Pearson. The successful candidate will contribute to a fully-funded project investigating host-pathogen interactions, with a particular focus on the molecular mechanisms underpinning infection by Salmonella and pathogenic Escherichia coli. The post holder will play a key role in advancing our understanding of bacterial pathogenesis and innate immune responses using cutting-edge molecular microbiology approaches.
The role will involve the application of cellular infection models, genomic and transcriptomic analyses, and functional assays to characterise the dynamics of host-pathogen interplay, virulence mechanisms, and immune evasion strategies. The successful candidate will have a PhD in molecular microbiology, with previous experience in innate immunity and host-pathogen interactions.
The post is available for 22 months starting 1st July 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
