We are looking for an exceptional marketing leader to shape the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across brand, reputation and student recruitment for the University of Southampton. This role shapes and delivers high-impact, audience-focused integrated marketing campaigns across global markets, ensuring optimal use of paid, owned and earned channels to engage and convert our audiences and elevate our brand.
The post holder will report to the Associate Director Marketing and Recruitment Events and liaise closely with the wider External Relations leadership during the briefing process and through regular reporting for each campaign strand. Acting as a senior leader, the role provides strategic direction and alignment across teams, joining up the dots and fostering collaboration with academic and professional services colleagues, students, and external partners.
The post holder will lead a team of marketing managers and coordinators to deliver impactful activity across the full marketing mix from proposition development to promotion and conversion. They will be a vital link between a wide range of teams ensuring that we anticipate audience needs, respond to sector trends, and that our campaigns are optimised to deliver the strategic outcomes the university is looking for.
This postholder will require excellent communication skills and should enjoy leading a busy team in a large organisation. The ability to solve complex challenges, collaborate well with a range of stakeholders and respond to changing market conditions are critical elements of this role. Experience of working within the education sector would be helpful but is not considered essential for this role.
