The Clinical Informatics Research Unit (CIRU), based within Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust and part of the CRUK Clinical Centre, is seeking an Azure Infrastructure Engineer to support the development and operation of its Secure Data Environment (SDE). This role sits within a growing multidisciplinary team and will involve working closely with a small group of engineers and researchers to deliver secure, scalable cloud infrastructure that enables safe access to sensitive healthcare and research data.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Azure-based infrastructure, ensuring that the SDE meets stringent security, governance, and compliance requirements associated with clinical research. The role requires experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices, alongside an understanding of networking, monitoring, and system reliability. Experience or interest in the clinical trials or healthcare domain, including the use of informatics and IT to support research, will be highly beneficial.
