The Faculty of Medicine wishes to appoint an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer, hosted by one of the following clinical specialties:
- Clinical Genetics
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- General Surgery
The post is intended for an applicant within any of these three specialities; the speciality of the successful post will be decided upon placement.
The successful candidate must be:
- In specialist clinical training at ST3 level or above.
- Have substantial experience in relevant research areas.
- Show a proven track record of high-quality original research publications.
- Be able to work well in multidisciplinary, multi-professional teams.
- Hold a corresponding NTN.
- Have a successful Criminal Records Bureau disclosure at Enhanced level.
Responsibilities:
- Develop research and teaching within the Human Development and Health School or Cancer Sciences School of the Faculty of Medicine.
- Participate in the NIHR Clinical Integrated Academic Training Programme.
- Maintain clinical commitments at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust to acquire full registration within the specialty.
- Work collaboratively in multidisciplinary, multi-professional teams.
