The predicted salary is between 26942 - 29959 £ per year.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Halls Maintenance Team for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join our established team to carry out the delivery of planned, reactive maintenance and minor small works on our Halls of Residences sites.

Main duties include:

  • Undertake emergency, planned and general maintenance works such as decoration, minor plumbing including drainage, flooring and furnishing repairs, minor brick and plaster repairs, and carpentry.
  • Undertake investigatory fault finding and use initiative to find solutions and make repairs on a range of internal and external building fabric.
  • Complete works to a high standard to align to industry best practice and Health & Safety procedures including risk assessments and method statements.
  • Accessing work via mobile handheld devices, updating status in a live environment to capture hours worked and materials used.

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will hold a City and Guilds qualification and/or minimum NVQ 2 qualification and served an apprenticeship in one primary core building trade with the confidence and ability to undertake a full range of duties in at least two other secondary building related trade disciplines. They will also have experience of maintenance and repairs in a live dynamic environment plus have a customer focused right first time attitude and flexible approach to working. Experience of using a CAFM system to access and complete work requests would be an advantage. They should be familiar with H&S legislation and understanding of risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and how to apply these to planned and reactive maintenance. A full driving license to travel to other local sites is essential.
