Applicants are invited for the post of Animal Technician (Level 2A) within the Biomedical Research Facility (BRF) at University Hospital Southampton. This fixed-term position is offered until Friday 30 October 2026 to provide maternity cover.
The facility has a strong reputation for excellence, supporting scientists conducting vital medical research in areas such as cancer, osteoporosis, neurology, ophthalmology, asthma, and nutrition.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out daily animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, and cleaning enclosures.
- Performing routine animal welfare checks and maintaining accurate records.
- Upholding high standards of animal health, welfare, and biosecurity in line with Home Office regulations and facility policies.
