Overview
Join the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS) as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and make a meaningful impact in the lives of cochlear implant and auditory implant users. You will have a unique opportunity to further your career by using your clinical skills within a university setting, allowing you to access up-to-date research in this field.
USAIS is a nationally recognised centre of excellence, providing specialist assessment, surgical intervention, and lifelong support for individuals with auditory implants. We have 2 part-time (21 hours) permanent vacant posts available.
Responsibilities
- Lead nurse-led clinics for implant assessment and follow-up
- Provide expert clinical advice and support to patients and families
- Collaborate with audiologists, surgeons, and rehabilitation specialists
- Contribute to service development, audit, and research initiatives
- Lead on Infection Control Policy
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Nurse
- MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of the patients
- Ability to demonstrate safe, clinical decision making and expert care
- Ability to work within professional boundaries, while providing care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care
