The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences is seeking an Administrator to join the Faculty Operating Service. Based in the School of Engineering, you will contribute to supporting the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Successful applicants will be experienced, motivated, enthusiastic, proactive team players who are culturally sensitive and can work effectively in a flexible and collaborative environment.
The Faculty Operating Service (FOS) works in partnership with the academic community, other professional services, and the wider university to support faculties across education, research, and enterprise, aiming to achieve ground-breaking research and an outstanding student experience. The FOS team is an integral and embedded professional service involved in running and maintaining the faculty, driving continual improvements, and ensuring best practices.
As a member of our busy administrative team, you will deliver a thoughtful, proactive, and efficient service. To succeed in this role, you will:
- Build effective and credible working relationships and liaise confidently with stakeholders.
- Be adaptable, flexible, proactive, and a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive, enthusiastic approach.
- Have excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage your workload effectively to meet business requirements.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft Office.
