The Role
The University of Southampton Students’ Union has 140+ student sports clubs that cater to a range of standards, from beginners through to high performance athletes. Our teams compete in a range of leagues and fixtures, including British University & College Sports and Inter-Mural Leagues under the banner of Team Southampton.
The Sport Coordinator will work in conjunction with other SUSU Activities staff to support our sports clubs to deliver an outstanding experience to their members. They will take key responsibility for overseeing and supporting clubs with health and safety and club development while acting to drive improvements of club activities and events including administering fixtures, facilities, finance, training, and a wide range of administrative processes.
About You
This role requires a large volume of administrative support to clubs and serves as a point of contact for committee members. We are looking for an approachable, enthusiastic person who can effectively communicate, engage, and establish relationships with our students to increase engagement and improve their university experience. A ‘can-do’ flexible attitude is needed in this fast-paced, diverse student-led environment.
We are looking for a highly organised individual who is proactive about ensuring they have up to date knowledge of sector relevant information and best practice and who is able to problem-solve and effectively manage multiple projects.
