British Academy Early Career Researcher Network South East Officer
The University of Southampton, together with Canterbury Christ Church University and Buckinghamshire New University, is leading the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network (ECRN) for the South East. This role supports the establishment and running of the regional BA ECRN.
Responsibilities
- Lead coordination, delivery and evaluation of the BA ECRN South East Cluster.
- Organise approximately ten events a year (3‑4 in person/hybrid, 6 online).
- Provide administrative support for the network across 17 universities.
- Schedule organisational meetings across the cluster.
- Support social networking activities for ECRs.
- Report to the British Academy.
- Advertise and promote events and opportunities to the cluster.
- Travel to partner universities for scheduled visits and in‑person events.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a degree level/Level 6 vocational qualification or equivalent practical experience.
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant experience in project administration.
- Numeracy skills.
- Experience organising events.
- Good IT skills, including communication platforms such as social media and website management.
- Excellent communication skills, able to work independently and as part of a team.
The role is a 0.5 FTE position (2.5 days a week), based in Southampton with travel across the cluster. This role does not qualify for Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship. To explore alternative UK visa options, see gov.uk.
