The University of Southampton is seeking to appoint a fixed-term maternity leave cover for 12 months, with a possible extension, for the role of Associate Director of Infrastructure.

Our estate includes diverse properties across several campuses: Highfield, City Centre, Avenue, Boldrewood Innovation, and Winchester School of Art. The Estates & Facilities team ensures a physical environment that supports a world-class university, with a portfolio covering academic, research, clinical, enterprise, workspace, residential, social, sporting, and community facilities. We have ambitious plans, including a £1bn estates masterplan to develop a sustainable and inclusive estate over the next decade.
The role involves leading a team of experts in electrical, mechanical, safety, and infrastructure engineering to provide technical leadership to operational maintenance and project teams within Estates & Facilities. You will act as the client representative for estate development, owning the infrastructure masterplan and overseeing significant capital investments aimed at achieving Net Zero.
This position is suitable for candidates with experience managing complex portfolios within a Russell Group University. The successful candidate will excel in stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and delivering results within budget, with a customer-centric approach.
