The predicted salary is between 10400 - 15600 £ per year.

To provide Accessibility Support to a vision impaired academic who is on a balanced research/teaching/service contract in the Southampton Education School for 8 hours per week for 1 year with the potential for extension for up to 3 years.

Duties Will Vary, But Will Include

  • Creating and managing data records, including Excel spread sheets, PowerPoint slides for use in a variety of research, teaching and course administrative settings
  • Assisting the academic with library research activities such as searching library catalogues or databases or electronic sources.
  • Data interpretation (i.e. inaccessible/visual representations of student work/quant research data);
  • Providing support for electronic platform use, (i.e. worktribe);
  • Academic referencing using a variety of academic conventions: i.e. APA, Harvard, and utilising software to administer appropriately cited sources;
  • Preparing materials for publication;
  • Carrying out reviews of literature as directed;
  • Providing practical assistance to academic in campus settings, placements or field trips.
  • Occasional physical location support on university campus/property.
  • Reading aloud academic materials (e.g. journal articles, books, exam papers or class handouts).
  • Recording academic material in digital formats.
  • Transcribing information such as handwritten notes and/or audio recordings using standard word processing software.
