About The Role

This role involves working with students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, primarily in the Fashion and Textile Department. You will be able to provide high quality academic delivery with a particular focus on delivery of material awareness, garment fit, function and manufacture married with experience of working with 3D digital construction software and supporting equipment. You will support curriculum development that promotes diversity, inclusivity, and cutting-edge practice, challenging thought and practices within the subject area. Key to this post will be the ability to lead on digital pattern and garment development techniques.

About You

You are a passionate and student-focused individual with strong technical and organisational skills. Guiding students to reach their potential will be at the heart of what you do. In addition to your strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills, you will be capable of actively contributing to course management, student experience and pastoral care, giving ongoing constructive guidance and feedback. You will have a strong knowledge and experience of industry level equipment and be up to date with technological advances in the area. You will be adept at effective communication to a diverse range of individuals from varying backgrounds and have knowledge and understanding of race, multiculturalism, and diversity. You will hold an undergraduate degree in fashion (manual pattern cutting and realisation and digital processes) or an associated subject. Teaching and learning experience and/or equivalent industry experience in digital pattern cutting and garment technology processes, using industry standard software is also essential.
