Library Services provides a wide range of high-quality library and information services to USW students, academics, and researchers USW Library | University of South Wales.
We are looking for a motivated & organised Senior Library Assistant who can work flexibly to support the operation and delivery of services at our Pontypridd campus libraries as part of the Library Operations and Engagement team .
You will have day-to-day responsibility for the supervision of library spaces and services in the Pontypridd campus libraries. You will liaise with a range of university departments to ensure we provide welcoming, safe and supported study space for students.
You will have oversight of request services including Inter-Library loans with the British Library and our reciprocal borrowing partner institutions. You will assist the Library Operations & Engagement Assistant manager with line managing a team of Library Assistants, having responsibility for assigning them tasks and monitoring progress. This will include continuous editing and improvement of our print collection, alongside project planning and supervision of collection moves or library improvement projects.
Over the summer vacation you will be responsible for the Library Support Assistants ensuring we can provide our advertised out-of-hours services.
You will also contribute to the wider work of Library Services through the planning and supervision of projects.
As part of a frontline team, which delivers excellent customer service, a desire to work with customers and a commitment to high standards of customer service is essential.
The role is part-time, Tuesday to Friday, 4.35 hours a day.
