The University of South Wales (USW) is seeking a highly motivated Research Governance Manager to support the effective governance of research, ethics and compliance, and promote good research practice. Based in the Research Environment team within the Department of Engagement, Research and Commercialisation (ERC), the post contributes to the University's approach to research integrity, ensuring adherence to the principles of the Concordat to Support Research Integrity and compliance with the Trusted Research agenda. The postholder will also play a key part in shaping and embedding a positive, responsible and inclusive research culture across the University. Based at Pontypridd, with cross‑campus working, this role requires strong critical thinking, analytical and problem‑solving skills to support the effective management of research ethics, integrity and compliance, including trusted research.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Research Governance Manager provides specialist knowledge and advice on research governance matters, supporting both institutional policies and our researchers.
  • Working within the Research Environment team in ERC, the role spans research ethics, integrity and Trusted Research, applying sound judgement to ensure compliance while supporting responsible research activity at USW.

Qualifications

We are looking for a thoughtful, collaborative and professional individual with strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, comfortable working with complex or sensitive issues. The role suits someone who can develop strong working relationships and offer sound judgement and advice.
