Thales, in partnership with Welsh Government and the University of South Wales, have created a National Digital Exploitation Centre (NDEC), in recognition of the need to create and retain high value jobs in the region as well as stimulate sustainable growth in regional business. The NDEC is a custom-built facility in Ebbw Vale South Wales to meet this need.

The education focus of NDEC will be on outreach activities to raise awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) including for example Digital Skills and Cyber Security to school children, upskilling of teachers and the local workforce and providing career development opportunities to local businesses.

To help support our development, we are seeking an outreach delivery officer to be responsible for developing and delivering training courses and material primarily through the medium of Welsh in line with the NDEC agenda. Working closely with multiple different stakeholders, the customer community and both internal/external partners, the candidate will be a highly organised and diligent individual to make the role a success.

Applications will be considered on submission, and we reserve the right to close the positions earlier if sufficient applications are received.

As an employee of USW you will be required to travel between our campuses and a variety of educational sites across South East Wales, including the National Digital Exploitation Centre (NDEC), Ebbw Vale.

If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.

USW is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All those working at the University are expected to share this commitment. We are committed to employing a diverse workforce and creating an inclusive environment where colleagues can be themselves and every person is treated with dignity, fairness and respect. We actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and communities, especially with regards to age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, race and religion and/or belief.

If you're a Welsh learner or a Welsh speaker, we'd be delighted to receive your application. At USW, you'll have access to Welsh courses to enable you to develop your Welsh skills further, in order to provide a bilingual service to our students, colleagues and the public.
