The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) is the National Conservatoire of Wales providing pioneering performance-based training to over 900 of the most talented actors, musicians, stage technicians, scenic designers and arts managers from more than 40 countries. It is also one of Cardiff’s most popular arts venues hosting over 500 public performances each year. It is based at the stunning landmark building in the heart of Cardiff, overlooking beautiful, urban parkland just a 5-minute walk to the city centre. Its reputation is built on excellence, and it attracts the very best talent.
We are seeking to recruit a Student Voice Officer to evaluate and enhance student representation and feedback mechanisms. You will particularly work to promote good relations and practices, as an advocate for our student community, and to embed these within our systematic quality enhancement processes. Reporting to the Student Casework Manager, and working closely with other staff, this role will afford the College the opportunity to consider, not least in relation to a key agenda of equality, diversity and inclusion, how enhancement of the student voice can be embedded into our academic provision, ethos and strategic development.
This is a full time position. The standard working hours for this role are 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Thursday, and 08:30 to 16:30 on Friday, with a one-hour lunch break each day. Flexible working arrangements may allow for earlier or later start and finish times, considering the needs of the role and College opening hours (08:00-18:00). The role is based on campus for at least 60% of working time, including in the student-facing Information Hub (Mondays and Fridays) and, from time to time, Llanishen Studios. For the remainder of the week, there is flexibility to work on a hybrid basis between home and the College, subject to agreement with the line manager and business needs.
