The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is the National Conservatoire of Wales. We have a bright and confident future as a national anchor institution, and the convenor for the arts in Wales. Following exceptional achievements in recent years that have seen the College’s profile grow significantly, and the largest gifts in its history attracted, the newly-formed Advancement team is now entering an exciting new chapter.

The Advancement team mission statement is to communicate with our community to make excellent things happen for the College and beyond. The team is responsible for RWCMD having one voice and one narrative when building positive relationships with our communities and unlocking their support. The newly-appointed Director of Advancement is a member of the College’s Senior Leadership Team.

The Advancement team will be at the heart of delivering for the College against its new strategy, including strengthening brand recognition, driving development of its income streams for maximum impact, developing its case for support, laying ever-firmer data-led foundations, engaging with more of its communities, and student recruitment. With a number of new roles coming on stream simultaneously, this is a unique opportunity and special moment to join a fast-developing, positive, and driven team.

The Advancement Events Manager contributes to the development and delivery of a strategic advancement events programme that strengthens the College’s reputation, fosters meaningful engagement with its community, and supports key institutional priorities such as fundraising. This role ensures a coherent and compelling brand presence across advancement events, positioning them as a powerful engine for building relationships and advancing the College’s strategy.

Working collaboratively across the College, the Advancement Events Manager will create experiences informed by the College-wide case for support, that inspire, connect, and communicate the College’s vision to its community.

This is a part‑time position, 0.6 FTE (3 days a week). We offer employee benefits including an excellent pension scheme and generous annual leave.
