We are undertaking a technical revamp of our website and are looking for a technical test engineer to join us to help with the transformation. This is an exciting time to be joining the University of Southampton as we are looking to rebuild, consolidate and rearchitect large parts of our sites to meet best practices for technical design, content and accessibility.
About the Role
This role will work across our website estate looking to ensure that as we consolidate platforms and improve technical debt, design and reliability we have a fully formed suite of tests. We are looking for someone with a wide range of testing skills from Linux and cloud platforms experience through to frontend and dedicated Drupal and PHP testing. If you have any or all of these then this role may be for you.
What you’ll do
- Work with the team to define and analyse technical backlog, defining tests to ensure it is resolved to a high quality.
- Work with developers to ensure that static and data driven solutions are fully understood and implemented to meet the requirements.
- Proactively work with our content design and user experience team to define how the website should function.
- Develop tests, testing strategies and documentation for existing systems to aid with building out a full test suite.
What you’ll bring
- Strong experience of testing at least one of the following: Drupal 10, Frontend technologies, ideally including Vue.js, Linux and Azure platforms and deployment automation.
- The ability to present your ideas and your specialist area to a wide and potentially non-technical audience.
