Join the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS) as a Medical/Clinic Coordinator and make a meaningful impact on the lives of cochlear implant and auditory implant patients. About the role:
- Location: University of Southampton Highfield Campus, Building 19
- Working hours:Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
- Fixed Term Contract : 24 Months
Job Purpose:
What you will do:
- Triage, coordinate, and provide accurate and timely processing of patient and clinical correspondence
- Provide end‑to‑end support and perform administrative tasks relating to the management of patients, following correct procedures and applying a good working knowledge of complex administrative systems
- Providing medical coordinator support for PHAB & ENT medical clinics
- Liaise with local Allied Health Professionals, ENT services, hospital staff and clinical radiology staff regarding patient referrals, appointments, admissions, assessments, scans and image reports
What you will bring:
- Relevant work experience within an administrative or customer support role, preferably in a healthcare setting or clinical environment – including experience using a Patient Administration System (PAS) or equivalent
- Strong communication skills are essential, with a proven ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload
- Excellent attention to detail, record keeping skills and maintenance of confidentiality for all data and patient information.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
- Ability to thrive and support colleagues in a busy and interactive environment in a dedicated team
Special requirements:
- The maintenance of confidentiality in information and data management is mandatory, as is the ability to cross‑check data from multiple sources, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- A DBS check at Standard level is required for this role; this will be carried out by the University
