The University of Sheffield – The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Electrical Machines and Power, with expertise in one of the following areas: Electrical Machines; Power Electronics; Power Systems. You will join one of the UK's largest and most successful research groups in these fields which has an impressive array of experimental facilities and longstanding record of industrial collaboration.

As a Lecturer you will help support the School's strategic objectives by:

  • Enhancing our research capability in electrical machines, drives, and power conversion systems aligned with global transitions towards electrification and renewable energy systems.
  • Supporting and improving teaching quality and student experience across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in electrical engineering.
  • Strengthening partnerships with industry, government, and research organisations in energy, transport, and manufacturing sectors.
  • Contributing to national priorities in clean energy, grid modernisation, and industrial decarbonisation.
