Overview
The University of Sheffield is seeking a Head of Finance Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a Finance Operations function to support the University’s strategy, providing direction and strong scrutiny to ensure operational activities are delivered efficiently and in regulatory compliance.
- Lead Finance Operations teams including Procurement and Accounts Payable, Payroll and Expenses, Pensions, Accounts Receivable, and Finance Systems (together approximately 75 staff).
- Develop and implement long-term strategy for system improvements and developments across Finance, with a view to a new ERP system in forthcoming years.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the department, across the University, and externally to deliver robust controls, efficiencies, process reviews, and systems enhancements within the existing suite of systems.
- Provide leadership, build a culture of collaboration, continual improvement, excellence and effectiveness, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the Head of Financial Control and Compliance to identify and implement a robust control environment and improvements in processes and policies.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Extensive proven track record of team management with excellent personal and collaborative skills.
- Strong system knowledge with ability to challenge the status quo and improve processes.
- Experience in managing financial processing functions and developing/enforcing policies and procedures.
