We are looking for an innovative and forward-thinking Marketing Technology Manager to lead the development and delivery of our marketing technology (MarTech) strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how technology, data and digital innovation drive marketing performance within a complex and purpose-led organisation. You will play a central role in enabling smarter, more personalised engagement with prospective students and stakeholders.

About the role

Reporting to the Deputy Marketing, Brand and Digital, you will define and deliver a MarTech roadmap that underpins our marketing strategy—enhancing lead generation, improving conversion and transforming the applicant experience. Working across Marketing, Web, Insight, IT and Student Recruitment teams, you will act as the organisation’s subject matter expert on marketing technology—identifying, implementing and optimising tools and platforms that support integrated, insight-led campaigns. This is a hands-on role where you will balance strategic thinking with practical delivery, working within a focused budget to maximise impact and efficiency.

You will:

  • Develop and own the MarTech roadmap, identifying tools and platforms to support automation, analytics, social listening and AI-driven optimisation.
  • Act as a specialist in emerging technologies (including generative AI and marketing automation), ensuring we stay ahead of digital trends.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection and integration of marketing technologies in collaboration with IT, data and procurement teams.
  • Implement systems that support student recruitment marketing and enhance the end-to-end user journey.
  • Establish best practice and deliver training to enable teams to fully utilise marketing technologies.
  • Work with insight and web teams to develop dashboards, reporting and performance monitoring tools.
  • Manage licences, suppliers and compliance requirements.
  • Build strong internal and external networks to share innovation and best practice.

About you

You will be a technically savvy marketing professional with a passion for innovation, data and digital transformation. You will bring:

  • Proven experience of testing, implementing and optimising marketing technologies.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a complex environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation, analytics and digital platforms.
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams in a matrix structure.

You will also demonstrate:

  • The ability to influence stakeholders and build credibility across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage budgets, timelines and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and a drive to deliver measurable results and ROI.
  • Experience in higher education or a similar sector is desirable, but we welcome applicants from a range of industries with relevant MarTech expertise.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive salary and excellent pension scheme.
  • An impressive 32 days leave plus bank holidays, additional time off at Christmas and the opportunity to buy even more!
  • Flexible working - we support a culture of flexible and agile working to help you find the right balance.
  • The Perks! - MySalford, our online employee portal offers a wide range of lifestyle benefits and discounts.
  • Wellbeing support - all our people are important to us and we have services and facilities dedicated to your mental and physical health, ranging from an Employee Assistance Programme and counselling, to sports and fitness facilities including discounted gym memberships.

Please note this opportunity may close early depending on applicant volume.
