Are you an experienced academic and Diagnostic Radiographer ready for an exciting new challenge? We're looking for someone with expertise in radiography education and leadership who can help us achieve our mission to deliver the highest quality inclusive, stimulating and challenging education and research. You will play a key role in shaping the future of radiography education through the development and operationalisation of our new, innovative curriculum and our ambitious placement reform agenda.
We are seeking a motivated, creative and ambitious leader to take Diagnostic Radiography at Salford University forward, building on our existing strengths while developing new areas of business to meet the future demands of a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. You'll need to be a forward-thinking, innovative and compassionate leader, ready to embrace new challenges, support your colleagues, and champion the exciting changes underway in radiography education at the University.
You will work across the School and wider University, collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including NHS and independent sector partners to bring our new curriculum to life and enable sustainable, high-quality practice-based learning.
You'll have experience working in Higher Education and a dedication to creating the best possible student experience through strong partnerships, excellent teaching and inclusive learning practice, and a commitment to fostering belonging and student success. As an academic leader, you will also contribute to the growing research profile of Diagnostic Radiography and the School of Health & Society, engaging in research, scholarship, and knowledge exchange and supporting research development across the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the development of new areas of business, reflecting the changing world and needs of the diagnostic imaging sector, ensuring the successful implementation and operational delivery of our new, innovative curriculum and placement reform.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to lead and deliver pedagogic innovation across a range of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, ensuring academic excellence and future-focused curriculum design.
- Work as part of the Directorate management team, delivering excellent education and student experience across disciplines and contributing to academic leadership, quality assurance and strategic planning.
- Champion an inclusive academic community, using teaching approaches that encourage inclusivity, strengthening student partnership, enhancing belonging, diversifying the curriculum and using inclusive assessment approaches to help close the award gap.
- Promote the development and delivery of innovative simulation and practice-based learning opportunities through our state-of-the-art simulation suites and our exciting new clinic building (due for completion in Autumn 2026).

The School of Health and Society at the University of Salford is the largest provider of professional training for the Allied Health Professions in the UK. The School has a dynamic team of academic staff offering high-quality educational programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
