We are at an interesting time for the Higher Education sector, there is significant change in terms of oversight, student expectations and changing demographics. We are trying to do things differently so that we stay ahead of these changes, enabling us to be sustainable into the future.

We are excited about the scope and opportunity we have to make a significant difference to the experience colleagues have at the University by developing and delivering a people strategy, projects and change plans that make an impact and create a step change in culture, based on behaviours. In turn, this enables our colleagues to focus on our students, ensuring that they have a great experience when they come to the University of Salford.

Sitting as one of the three pillars of the Reward, Wellbeing and People Analytics team, the Head of People Analytics leads the People Analytics function, operating in a highly effective and responsive customer-focused central service environment. This role is critical to achieving the vision for the HR Department by helping to drive and embed a workforce planning and performance management culture across the University, including ensuring that business leads take stronger ownership for their people data. The role also ensures that people analytics provision is appropriately developed, and operated efficiently, effectively and reliably, for use within HR and the wider University context, whilst helping to shape and influence people-led decision making across the University.

We are looking for someone who has experience of:

  • working in a senior analytics role
  • using databases, including Oracle, SAP and data warehousing applications along with analytical applications such as Power BI and OTBI
  • leading analytics projects, statutory and regulatory returns
  • leading, developing, and managing a team
