We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational Lecturer with a proven record of accomplishment in both Film Studies and Film Production teaching and research to contribute to our programmes in Film. Areas of knowledge include Asian cinema, British Cinema, and Contemporary American Cinema, with a track record in filmmaking and teaching filmmaking in one or more of the following craft areas: screenwriting, directing, editing.
This is a full-time permanent position with a starting salary of £46,735.
Key ResponsibilitiesApplicants should have the ability to teach film theory and critical approaches to film studies through a non-Western lens, with some expertise in Asian cinema. Experience in teaching British Cinema and Contemporary American Cinema is desirable. They should also have a track record in filmmaking and teaching filmmaking in areas such as screenwriting, directing, editing (e.g., AVID, Premier, DaVinci), producing, production design, sound, or cinematography.
Applicants should have a record of peer-reviewed research outputs and the ability to contribute to the Research Excellence Framework (REF). They should have experience teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and demonstrate innovative pedagogic approaches to enhance students’ learning experiences.
