The University of Salford’s Finance Department is responsible for the overall financial management of the institution and its subsidiaries. The department is made up of a team of 70 staff and provides a full range of financial services to the University. The Finance team work closely with Academic Units and Professional Services to maximise opportunities and ensure financial sustainability.

As part of the University’s Finance Division, one Finance Officer role is based within the Academic & Commercial Finance team and the other in the Professional Services Finance team, with the main focus being to support the Assistant Management Accountant and Finance Managers in providing a high level of decision support in an environment of significant change. The role of Finance Officer will report directly to the Assistant Management Accountant or Finance Manager and will:

  • Provide finance support and advice
  • Support production of budgets and undertake budget monitoring and variance analysis
  • Process and supervise the input of all financial transactions relating to debtors, creditors, expenses and internal charges
  • Provide management information for the purposes of internal and external performance reporting

We are looking for someone who has the ability to react proactively to changing circumstances, providing accurate and timely support in a fast-paced environment. In addition, the role is heavily focused on providing excellent customer service whilst ensuring operational compliance with financial regulations and procedures.
