Senior Technician in Maker Space - Salford
Opportunity Overview
The Senior Technician will be based in the Maker Space within the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Environment (SEE) at the PeelPark Campus. You will work closely with students and academic staff to facilitate the use of 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC mills, lathes and routers, develop and deliver learning resources, and ensure rigorous compliance with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations. The role requires an organised, self starting maker with strong problem solving skills and a broad knowledge of making processes.

Applicants should also be aware that the successful candidate would be required to work on campus Monday to Friday to support our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates the use of specialist equipment or techniques to students and staff.
- Contributes academically to the development and or delivery of research/teaching/enterprise activities.
- Directs assessments of specialist space health and safety. Participates in assessments of specialist health and safety.
- Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned and the collection and dissemination of relevant information.
