The Role

We are recruiting to the role of Senior Research Fellow to join our supportive and collegial research team. The postholder will have an opportunity to contribute to a major European initiative on developing mental health and wellbeing in Europe.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the University of Roehampton's contribution to the EU Horizon project 'Together for Mental Health: A scalable, participatory and evidence-based mental health toolbox for Europe' (awarded £4m in total), ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of all assigned work package.
  • Collaborating with international partners across work packages, contributing to the overall integration, scalability, and impact of the project.
  • Taking primary responsibility for the design, coordination, and delivery of 'Work Package 3', involving the systematic identification, review, and synthesis of evidence-based mental health resources from academic, policy, and practice-based sources.
  • Contributing substantially to 'Work Package 5', leading the development and delivery of a UK-based secondary school case study.

The successful candidate will have skills and experience in:

  • PhD or professional doctorate with a substantial empirical research component.
  • Strong knowledge of applied mental health research, particularly in education settings.
  • Understanding of evidence synthesis methods (e.g. systematic or scoping reviews) and translation of research into practice.
  • Expertise in participatory and co-creation methodologies, including stakeholder engagement and lived-experience approaches.
  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate complex interventions with attention to inclusion, equality and cultural responsiveness.
