Job Description
The nurse leader position supports the nurse manager and unit staff as follows:
- In collaboration with the practice nursing leadership, serves as a role model and resource for nursing personnel, and promotes collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other health disciplines in the management of the practice and needs of patients and families.
- Leads clinical staff team members and others by supporting unit and organization goals and initiatives through role modeling and active participation in the change process.
- Provides leadership and coordinates activities, programs and personnel on all shifts.
- Provides leadership and management of the practice, acting in place of the manager in the manager’s absence with 24/7 accountability.
- The nurse leader builds on the skills, competencies and job description of the HFM staff nurse.
Salary Range
$44.26 – $56.00 an hour
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Job Requirements
- Education – Fulfilled the educational requirements to be a licensed Nurse in NYS; Bachelor’s is preferred.
- Experience (minimum) – 5 years as RN.
- License/Certification Required – NYS License, CPR.
- Skills (to include equipment, software, etc.) – Demonstrates potential to meet NL role requirements.

Culturally diverse population, neonates through geriatrics.
