Overview
West 6 is a 38-bed unit serving general medical patients with acute care needs. This role works with a dynamic, motivated and passionate leader team. This Assistant Nurse Manager position will serve as the Unit Educator and will primarily work Days and Evenings (with some nights).
Provides professional nursing services, leadership of nursing staff, leadership within the organization, and management of operational processes to serve patients and their families and/or serve the nursing department. Collaborates with other health care providers and health care team members to achieve expected patient and organization outcomes. Work efforts are focused on improvement of the care environment. Nurse leaders and managers use the nursing process, appropriate leadership and management theory and practices, and evidence-based nursing practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support care.

Role level
Level IV Assistant Nurse Manager – The ANM is accountable for supporting standards of care and providing consultation and expertise in the delivery of patient care. The ANM participates in activities at the unit, service, nursing department, and institutional level. The ANM contributes to goal achievement through personal action and the facilitation of others. The ANM provides expert patient care, serves as a resource, consults as requested, and role models effective communication. The ANM participates in the management of human resources, the development and evaluation of recruitment and retention strategies, and the monitoring of patient and operational outcomes. The focus of the ANM responsibilities reflects the expectations for appointment at unit, program, or service level. The ANM may assume expanded functional roles within the nursing unit as assigned by the Nurse Manager, including but not limited to Education, Orientation, Precepting, Quality Management and Improvement, Business Operations, Safety, Standards Development and Recruitment and Retention efforts. The Level IV ANM may assume an expanded unit role as available and assigned by Nurse Manager.
PAY RANGE: $98,102.52 – 126,787.11
*The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual salaries will be set within the range, and will consider factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements
- 3-5 years recent RN expertise in an acute care setting.
- BS in Nursing preferred.
- Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers preferred).
