Highland Hospital is seeking a full-time Lab Section Head (Core Laboratory Supervisor) to join its team. Candidates for this role will work full time, Day Shift, Monday-Friday.

Position Summary

To provide technical oversight of all sections of the Core Laboratory Sections within the Department of Laboratory Medicine. The Core Laboratory encompasses all sections in Chemistry, Blood Gas, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Microbiology. The Core Laboratory Supervisor provides technical expertise and regulatory oversight of all areas of the Core laboratory. Working with Core Lab Assistants, ensures optimal workflow, quality results, and adherence to all regulatory standards. The Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring financial viability/budget of the Core Laboratory area. This position will aid the laboratory management team in preparing for the future and recommending technology that can meet both economic and workflow standards for the organization.

SALARY RANGE: $94,500 - $124,740. The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity consideration.

Job Requirements

  • Education: BS in Medical Laboratory Technology or must meet NYS DOE requirements for licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or other means of meeting NYS DOH and Federal CLIA requirements for general supervisor.
  • License/Certification Required: NYS license for Clinical Laboratory Technologist as determined by regulatory authorities.
  • Skills: Can prioritize and multitask. Possess good communication skills.
