The School of Chemistry, Food and Pharmacy at the University of Reading is seeking an Organic Chemist with a keen interest in Chemistry Education for a 12-month period as Maternity Cover. The successful candidate will help deliver an Organic Chemistry curriculum that meets high standards for both home and international undergraduate students. The role involves collaborating with other Teaching Intensive staff to devise and deliver engaging and challenging curricula.

The appointed candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, innovative teaching within the broad scope of Organic Chemistry, supporting undergraduate programs. The role includes teaching core Organic Chemistry syllabus and laboratory content, developing innovative teaching initiatives, and undertaking administrative tasks.

You will have:

  • Experience teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels;
  • A commitment to developing innovative teaching activities;
  • Ability to utilize and develop IT resources to support student learning;
  • Experience supporting an engaging curriculum that promotes student success;
  • A PhD in Organic Chemistry and experience with blended learning in higher education.
