Job Title:Sideloader Operative
Working Hours:Monday – Friday,Operative working either 6am-3pm or 9am-6pm.
Salary:£14- £14.50
Key Responsibilities
- Picking and Packing:Accurately selecting and packing various metal items according to order specifications, ensuring they are ready for dispatch.
- Labelling and checking quantityof stock and filling in paperwork.
- Operating warehouse machinery, in particular the Counterbalance Forklift. (preferred not essential)
- Following Instructions:Adhering to, order details, and general warehouse procedures.
- Teamwork and Independence:Working effectively both as part of a team to achieve common goals and independently when required to complete individual tasks.
- General Warehouse Duties:Undertaking a range of warehouse tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the facility. This includes maintaining tidiness, organizing stock, and other related duties.
- Heavy Lifting:Performing tasks that may involve some heavy lifting of metal items, up to 25kg.
- Communication:Maintaining excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and follow instructions accurately.
- Safety Awareness:Adhering to all health and safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse environment.
- Use the Forklift in a safe and efficient way- adhering to safety guidelines and instructions.
Qualifications And Experience
- Essential: Sideloader or Combi Forklift Licence
- Preferred:Warehouse experience.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when picking, packing, and labelling stock.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake some heavy lifting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to understand and follow instructions.
- A proactive and reliable work ethic.
Other Requirements
- Essential:Own transport due to the company\’s location on the outskirts of Reading (RG7)
- Flexibility:A willingness to undertake a variety of warehouse tasks as required.

This is a temporary position that could lead to a permanent role after a qualifying period.
