We are excited to invite applications for the Regius Professorship in Meteorology and Climate Science – one of the most prestigious roles in atmospheric science. Awarded to the University in 2012 to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and held since then by Professor Keith Shine FRS, this professorship represents a unique opportunity to lead in a discipline that is critical to our planet’s future.

We seek an exceptional academic leader who will shape the future of meteorology and climate science and champion sustainability on the global stage. You will be widely recognised as a world-leading expert in one or more areas of weather and climate science, with a passion for advancing knowledge and influencing policy in response to the climate emergency.
