We are seeking to appoint a permanent Lecturer to contribute to the teaching and research activities in the Computer Science Department. Successful applicant is expected to have a strong track record of research excellence and ideally experience in teaching, However, candidates without teaching experience but who can demonstrate teaching aptitude are welcome to apply as we will provide formal training.

Teaching and Learning is important to the Department and University and all applicants will be expected to be able to play a full role in teaching across the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and contribute to the management and leadership of wider activities to enable there to be a thriving learning culture.

Research portfolios should include internationally excellent academic publications in the targeted areas and include (appropriate to career stage) experience in acquiring research funding and successful doctoral supervision. The research areas include, but not limited to, the following fields:

  • DATA SCIENCE FOR HEALTHCARE
  • DATA SCIENCE FOR DIGITAL COLLECTIONS
  • DATA SCIENCE FOR CREATIVE INDUSTRIES
  • COMPUTER VISION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING
  • AI FOR WEATHER FORCASTING
  • AI FOR EARTH OBSERVATION

You will have :

  • A PhD in computer science or a related field, and a strong reputation for rigorous international research in Clinical Data Science
  • A well developed knowledge of the fundamentals of computer science as suitable for teaching across the curriculum at UG/PG level.
  • Excellent research publications of international standing on Data Science
  • The ability to work collaboratively within the Department and the broader University community
  • A strong commitment to student support and the enhancement of the learning experience
